As a follow-up of conversation that we had with some friends yesterday and a random encounter of an old email, I was reminded of this excerpt by Steve Jobs.
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life,” Jobs said. “Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
Yesterday, we agreed that it is essential to listen to the opinions of other people since they can shed light into areas that may be too hard to discover on our own. Nevertheless, eventually, a crucial factor of a decision is the quality of understanding about ourselves.
Ninja edit: I just noticed that this is my 100th post. It is interesting that looking back I have a record of my thoughts and how they have evolved in the recent years. I guess it partly consists of a way of achieving partially this understanding.
